Day 1Marangu Gate to Mandara Hut
Trek begins at Marangu Gate through rainforest to Mandara Hut.
Day 2Mandara Hut to Horombo Hut
The trail opens into moorland as you continue to Horombo Hut.
Day 3Acclimatization hike towards Zebra Rocks and return to Horombo Hut
A dedicated acclimatization day hiking towards Zebra Rocks before returning to Horombo Hut to sleep at the same altitude.
Day 4Horombo Hut to Kibo Hut
Cross the alpine desert of the Saddle to reach Kibo Hut, the final camp before the summit.
Day 5Summit attempt to Uhuru Peak; descend to Horombo Hut
A pre-midnight start for the summit push to Uhuru Peak, followed by a long descent to Horombo Hut.
Day 6Horombo Hut to Marangu Gate; return to Moshi/Arusha
A final descent through forest to Marangu Gate, where you’ll receive your summit certificate before transferring back to Moshi or Arusha.
